Camera e Colazione charming Bed and Breakfast and Farm is the right place for you.
Your accommodations are located in a pastoral setting in Santa Croce, near Martirano Lombardo, surrounded by mountains and with a splendid view of the Piccola Sila mountains, the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Stromboli volcano.
Spectacular sunsets await you as you stroll around the estate or relax on the veranda, refreshed by the evening breeze and a glass of iced fion limoncello made from lemons grown in our orchard.
In the morning you may be awakened by Toni, our donkey, or Gianni, our rooster (both of whom are real early birds!) along with all the other animals who will be happy to greet you.
In season, our working farm offers you a bounty of fresh eggs, fruits and vegetables.
Camera e Colazione is located at 550 meters above sea level, in the small Sila mountain range, a few kilometers from the Sila National Park and equally close to the sea.
In addition to the natural landscape, which is its own site to behold, there are many historical and cultural attractions to discover nearby, such as the Riace bronzes in the Reggio Calabria Museum, the Codex Purpureus Rossanensis (or the Rossano Gospels) in Rossano and the archeological ruins of Scavi a Squillace.
In the courtyard adjacent to the house, Toni and Gianni frolic while enjoying their days with the other residents of Santa Croce Farm: donkeys from Monte Amiata in Tuscany, Montafoner Steinschafe sheep from Vorarlberg, Austria, two Calabrian "super ponies," Vietnamese pigs, as well as geese, ducks, chickens, quails, rabbits and cats, all waiting for visitors and caresses!
On our farm we produce olive oil, tomato puree, limoncello and much more.
All of our products are “zero kilometers,” which is a term denoting food that is produced, sold and eaten locally (in other words, food that has traveled 0 km distance). We specialize in using only natural/organic pesticides to have the lowest possible greenhouse gas emissions, or carbon footprint.
However, the pleasure we derive from watching our animals and viewing the spectacular sunsets does not preclude modern conveniences like satellite TV and WiFI.
